Adventure Trips

"Somewhere Over the Rainbow... "
"Dreams Really Do Come True!!"
Dan rides a 15 ft. Swell

Two thirds of our planet is covered by water. If you really want to see the world you have to go by boat. Captain Dan and his PAPA can show you the way. No need to have any sailing experience. PAPA II is set up well to sail singlehanded but comfortable for 6 or even 7 to go exploring in style. "Papas Fritis" is an inflatable with a 15HP outboard for that special cove that no one else can get to. We specialize in taking you to the "out of the way" island. Hunt for the "Great Dungeness Crab". Bring your SCUBA gear or KAYAK or even KITE gear. Come for a Day, Weekend or a whole week adventure. Explore the Caribbean, Mexico, the Panama Canal, Puget Sound, San Juan Islands, Desolation Sound, ... even Alaska.

*************************************************************************

Prices vary depending on destination and duration. Plan on $245/day pp. The following are planned trips. Others are waiting to be custom designed by you and the Captain.

*************************************************************************

-Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela to Margarite and return--

11 March to 17 March --- $1700 pp - $3000/ couple

Be a part of the first ever PAPA II adventure. Margarite is a short 30 mile beam reach across the trade winds. A stop over at Isle Coche is in order to test out the world class windsurfing and kiting possibilities before enjoying the Duty Free shopping on Margarite. A mix of great anchorages and a marina dock on Margarite.

-- P la C, Venezuela to Los Roques-- 170 NM downwind

24 March to 30 March --- $1700 pp - $3000/ couple

Overnight stop at La Tortuga Island.

The sail from Pureto la Cruz leaves at 1200. We take advantage of the afternoon trade winds, set the balloon and slide along through the night to the deserted island of La Tortuga. Arriving in the morning we can easily spot the perfect anchorage among virgin coral heads. The afternoon is now ours to go ashore and explore this charted but deserted island. Snorkel or dive with the Brownie Compressor and see all the tropical fish. Return to PAPA for a hot shower and a "Sundowner". BBQ the catch of the day and enjoy the night anchored in the lee of YOUR island. For tomorrow is another island just waiting for you to explore...

--- Los Roques-- Los Roques (a full week in paradise)

02 April to 09 April --- $1700 pp - $3000/ couple

176 Km north of Caracas (the capital of Venezuela), Los Roques Islands became a National Park in 1972 and is the biggest marine reserve archipelago in the world. A variety of activities is possible, Scuba diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, kite surfing, fishing, fly fishing or just have a swim in crystal clear waters accompanied with a siesta on the beach.
Enjoy the experience of navigating and exploring one of the most attractive and least known destinations in the Caribbean and the world.
The Archipelago of Los Roques has an extenuation of more than 221,120 Ha. and more than 100 Islands, numerous Sandbanks, keys, and coral reefs. La piedra de la Hausa is found here, it was quoted by Rondales Scuba as one of the best dives in the world.
Los Roques is protected by a great Barrier reef that surrounds all of the Islands and makes sailing safe and pleasant. Most if not all of our sailing will be during the day.

--- Los Roques to Aruba-- via Las Aves, Bonaire and Curacao

11 April to 17 April ---$1700 pp - $3000/ couple

Not much to add here. The "ABC's" plus a group of small Venezuelan Islands known only to the locals. LAS AVES. Some of the greatest tropical Islands around. Aruba has it all!!! Stops in Curacao and Bonaire are right along the way. Early morning sailings to the next island with an afternoon anchorage in time for some diving or a snorkel. Always moving West with the Easterly trade winds. This trip could be easily extended to cover two weeks !!!

Kids Trips

Siana and Jade learn how to drive!!

PAPA was excited to have little Danny as his crew at the ripe old age of two. (Less weight in a dingy equals speed in light winds.) Share that same feeling with your kids too. Captain Dan has coached and taught kids skiing and sailing for over 15 years. Children are a natural on board PAPA II. All safety concerns are expertly handled.

Experience the Seals, Crabs and Starfish. Overnight camping ashore on a local Island is a treat any kid will remember their entire life.

Please call the Captain to discuss your family's desires and let us design a trip that will be filed with many happy memories.

Children are half price when bunking in with their parents or in the salon. Up to 4 kids only please...

Weekend Getaways

Another Sunny day in Seattle!!!

Carolyn, Heather and Danger Kitty!!!

One of the cool things about sailing is that there are no traffic jams on the water. Of course we have the "Rules of the Road" in sailing but there are no yellow lines. We can get where ever the winds and tides take us. GETAWAY from the big city and explore the Great Northwest. Leave Seattle after work on Friday, (or better yet, skip school and go sailing Friday too). Spend Friday night at anchor watching the stars and the moon. Sail around the back of Bainbridge Island and dock at any of several great marinas. Sunday you are back at the dock in Seattle. Ready to sign on for a whole week....

Trips listed below will be available when PAPA II returns to the USA...

$1675 - Friday afternoon to Sunday evening. Up to 4 folks overnight.

$1975 - Thursday afternoon to Sunday evening. 4 Max.

I'll bring a bottle of wine. You just get off work....
